NZ Log Chalets was established by Peter Dorfliger in 1980. Peter originally from Switzerland, comes from a long line of timber & log joiners and carpenters. Upon arrival in New Zealand, Peter noted a market for the unique skills and craftsmanship required for Log Houses.

Using the tried and tested skills and techniques from his home county, Peter began designing and building Log houses with clients in New Zealand. The results were so good, NZ Log Chalets has gone from strength to strength since then. Our New Zealand climate has been no match for the reliable, durable details and jointing methods which have stood the test of time in the harsh Swiss Alpine.
